The Interim Administrator, Presidential Amnesty Programme, Col. Milland Dixon Dikio (rtd) has told PAP staff that they will not suffer in the ongoing restructuring of the PAP office.

The Interim Administrator, on Tuesday made this declaration ahead of the Christmas holidays to calm fears and quell rumours surrounding the welfare of staff.

“Based on the investigation report submitted by the Caretaker Committee on Presidential Amnesty Programme, there were some discrepancies. Once they are resolved, you will start receiving your payment as and when due.”

The staff thanked the Interim Administrator for the timely payment of the staff welfare package, noting that it was the best they had ever received.

Col. Dikio also told them his intentions to increase efficiency through staff assessment and evaluations to enable the incoming HR consultants comprehensively analyse each person’s key strengths and weaknesses. This he said will inform the decisions on retention and trainings required for the efficient execution of staff duties.

While saying a prayer and wishing the staff a Merry Christmas, Col. Dikio urged them to remain good representatives of the Amnesty programme and positive advocates of the COVID-19 anti-spread rules and regulations. He also challenged them to work diligently in their respective roles to ensure that the mandate of the Presidential Amnesty Programme is achieved.

He reiterated his vision to restore the Amnesty Programme to its original mandate of development, security and peace of the Niger Delta region and take service to the Niger Delta where the ex-agitators are domiciled, stressing that the Programme will be focused on service delivery.

According to Col. Dikio, the mandate of the Programme is to transform the ex-agitators into skilled entrepreneurs and employable citizens who will become net contributors to the economy of the region and the nation as a whole. He noted that this will be achieved if the staff perform their duties diligently.
